The Silverthorn Radio Club is a group of people of all ages from all walks of life who share a common interest in amateur radio. Many of our members are licensed radio amateurs and operate their own amateur radio stations. Members of the Club also share many other interests such as computers, the Internet, television, radio control, satellites, electronics, astronomy, among many others. On our informal evenings, you will find members often discussing a wide range of topics. We are a very social orientated club and some meetings each month are given over to informal discussion.
The club meets every Friday evening at 8pm at Friday Hall, 56 Friday Hill, Chingford, London, E4 6JT, it is fully accessible with car parking and a local bus service stopping 150 yards from the entrance. It has excellent facilities including its own shack with a work bench and radio equipment with permanent antennas which members operate under the call sign GX2HR. This call can also be heard during contests, special events and over the weekend of the annual club camp in July.
Visitors and new members are always welcome so why not visit Silverthorn Radio Club any Friday evening. Take the opportunity to use the club equipment, discuss radio and have the opportunity to help with operating and assisting other amateurs.
